About

The Royal We is an award-winning creative company.

The name began as a term of endearment, used when it was time to impress a client, and expectations need to be exceeded. Soon, it stuck around to stand for what we believed in: collaboration, teamwork, being hard working and relentless.

Our background is rooted in live action storytelling, 2D motion graphics and some 3D. Our core team is small, with most of us coming from an agency production background. Our hybrid approach combines the brand experience of an agency, with the hands-on expertise of a production company. We do that by assembling the right team around each specific project, from our collective of creators, editors, designers, writers, technologists… working across mediums, styles and deliverables.  By being stripped of outdated procedures and overhead,  a small studio like us can focus more on creativity, devoting our resources to producing the best ideas.

We might be small, but we are capable of big things.

Our process is a collaboration. Between our team and yours. We work with you to define goals and identify opportunities for your creative content needs. Principals

Sarah, Chris & Chris met in 2008 at R/GA’s content studio, working on accounts such as Nike, Microsoft, L’Oreal and Verizon.

Sarah’s expertise lies in leading multi-disciplinary teams through a variety of platforms and experiences. A School of Visual Arts graduate, she began her career as an award-winning documentary filmmaker, and happily found her way into advertising, holding senior roles at agencies R/GA and Havas. Sarah has worked every crew position in production, from commercials to independent shorts, and everything else in between. Her deep respect of the production process means a commitment to creativity, collaboration, and ingenious ways of saving her clients money. In short, she can make it happen. Originally from Singapore, Sarah is an avid New Yorker, who lives downtown with her Swedish husband, American son and Canadian daughter.

A background in classical piano taught Chris how to listen to the things around him and make sense of the themes. That sense of observing and assimilating is how he approaches his projects. He received his BFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, then honed his visual storytelling chops over many years at R/GA as a senior video editor. As a director, he gets real performances – often from non-actors – and chooses shots to illuminate the rhythm of their lives, making their stories bolder and more playful. He has several Vimeo Staff Picks, an AICP nomination, film festival awards, and a YouTube “top 10 Made-for-the Web shows” credit. Chris’s debut feature film, “Alberto and the Concrete Jungle,” which he wrote, directed, produced, and edited, is finishing post. It consists of over 50 cast members and spans the 5 NYC boroughs.
